Frequency and seasonal distribution of adenovirus and rotavirus in children diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis: A single centre experience

Aim: We aimed to investigate the relationship between age, gender, and season with respect frequency of rotavirus adenovirus antigens in stool specimens obtained from children one month 18 years age who were diagnosed acute gastroenteritis.
 Materials Methods: The records specimen analyses for 1960 patients diagnosis gastroenteritis at our hospital January 2017 August 2022 retrospectively examined. patient's admission year, season, viral antigen test results analyzed file records.
 Results: Viral was detected 364 (13.8%) included study, while 92 (4.7%) them 180 (9.1%) adenoviruses. found that both most common month-2 age. In commonly December winter, March spring. Twenty-six (28.2%) 68 (37.7%) hospitalized treated.
 Conclusion: Our study showed now adenovirus, which are agents gastroenteritis, seen a substantial rate. Especially under two detection is higher. Enteric more frequently winter suggest should be considered examined suspected gastroenteritis.
